Hearing Screening

Hearing Care Centers offers a comprehensive hearing screening is a series of tests that assess an individual’s ability to hear sounds and understand speech. The screening typically includes a range of tests such as pure-tone audiometry, speech audiometry, and middle ear testing. The purpose of the screening is to determine whether an individual has any hearing loss and the extent of the hearing loss.

Reducing Risk of
Dementia

Recent research has suggested that there may be a link between hearing loss and an increased risk of developing dementia. One theory is that hearing loss may lead to social isolation, cognitive decline, and a reduced ability to engage in mentally stimulating activities, all of which are risk factors for dementia. I live in NC and was given info for Tom Bartolucci to contact about what was best hearing aids to use. He told me about Cross Phonak hearing aids. I have been deaf in my right ear since I was 1 year old due nerve deafness. Cochlear implants would not work because my brain never developed a spot for hearing. Tom explained how the cross transmitter worked. He gave me a contact in Charlotte, NC - Innovative Hearing Center. I am now proud owner of technology that allows me to hear things on my right side. This is a life changing experience that I thank Tom for his knowledge.

Neil is The Maestro of Hearing. Really! I had no idea how uncomfortable my old hearing aids were until Neil fitted my new ones. I cannot even feel them in my ears and now wear them as consistently as I should. I urge anyone considering or currently wearing hearing aids to see Neil. If he can’t fit you perfectly, no one else can.

From a negative perspective, if you can’t complain, then the service must be alright. And it was. I had a problem with one of my hearing aids, and when I called to schedule an appointment, it was scheduled within a couple of days. When I arrived for my appointment, I was greeted by name and provided expert service. The service provider was curious, helpful, and knowledgeable. I am happy I chose the Hearing Care Center for my hearing aid needs.

Hearing Care Centers in Torrington is staffed with top notch employees. You are greeted by lovely Kendall who is personable, welcoming, and knowledgeable. Then there’s Neil DiStefano. He has a great sense of humor and makes you feel comfortable as soon as you enter his office. He is patient, kind, an excellent listener and most importantly thoroughly explains every step of the hearing aid process. He is an expert and superstar in his profession. Thank you Hearing Care Centers for helping and guiding my 88 year old mother. After 30 years of not hearing in one of her ears, she can hear us whisper. Amazing and heart warming!

From the very beginning, of Kendal answering my call to the meeting with the audiologist Neil has been a great experience. Kendal is professional, very knowledgeable and friendly . Not only nice to speak with a”real person “ in this day and age, but a happy 😊, charismatic one is a treat!
Neil gave a comprehensive testing involving hidden speech vowel and consonant recognition, showing his many years of experience. He explained everything after the testing and answered questions readily.

Repairs & Maintenance

For Patients & Non-Patients

Even the highest quality hearing devices can require adjustments and repairs from time to time. Our hearing aid specialists are proud to offer hearing aid repairs to everyone, even if you are not our patient.
When you bring your hearing aids into our hearing centers, we will test them for proper functioning and make any necessary repairs right here in our office. Should your hearing aids require repairs we can’t handle in-house, we will send them out for servicing and will provide you with loaner hearing aids to wear in the meantime. If we can’t help you, we will be happy to refer you to another source who can.
